How We Help

All services are provided by Dr. Lydia Conca on site at her office or virtually. As needed, home visits and attendance at important school meetings can be scheduled.

Intervention Tutoring

For students with dyslexic profiles, structured literacy methods, such as Orton-Gillingham, are used. Students’ performance is closely monitored and written progress summaries are provided.  Based on this data, intervention will continue as planned or be modified. When a method doesn’t work, we change instruction. We don’t blame the child!

Intervention tutoring:

  • lasts for 30-60 minutes, adjusted to child/student capacity

  • is delivered in-person, or

  • delivered as a hybrid – a combination of in-person and virtual.

Evaluations

Independent Literacy Evaluations

Usually requested by a school or child advocates and seek to resolve a dispute.

Diagnostic Reading Evaluations

Identify specific strengths and weaknesses. Consideration of current and future grade expectations guides interpretation of test results.

Screening for Dyslexia and Executive Function Processing

Brief assessments that provide an indication of whether the child or young adult is at-risk for the condition and might benefit from further testing.
