Dr. Lydia Conca has been supporting students with learning differences and disabilities her entire professional career. She has a deep appreciation for difficulties that arise in parenting and educating children whose unique learning needs are misunderstood.
For Parents
Homeschooling a child with reading difficulties.
Dr. Conca is available as a Coach. She will travel to your home to observe your child’s response to reading/literacy instruction. In follow-up video chats, she will provide suggestions and answer questions you may have about next steps.
Navigating special education services.
Dr. Conca is available to review educational records and psychological evaluations, to help you make informed decisions about your child’s education. She can review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and examine how these plans adapt to the child's documented needs and school expectations. If needed, she will to attend important school meetings with you.
Home or school visits.
There is a travel fee for distances of an hour or less from Old Lyme.
For Educators
Professional development in dyslexia and the science of reading is available. Coaching special education and Tier II/II teachers, working with studentwho are making limited progress in reading is also avaiable.
